Obituary of Carolyn Sue Gustafson
February 11,1949 to July 15, 2020 Carolyn Sue Gustafson departed peaceful for Heaven July 15, 2020 after a short struggle with Pancreatic Cancer. Also known as “Aunt No No” to her nieces and nephews, Carolyn never met a stranger. She was loved by all who knew her. One of her greatest loves was traveling twice a year for over 20 years to her beloved Catalonia Royal Tulum in Quintana Roo, Mexico where she reigned as “Queen” loved by all staff and visitors. Carolyn started a Facebook site for the resort and it now has over 5000 members. She also shared her love of the resort with her very special friends of Sun Hunters International Travel. Carolyn is a 1967 graduate of Clayton Valley High School and earned her AA degree from Diablo Valley College where she received training as a Dental Assistant. Carolyn enjoyed a long career as a Dental Assistant, most recently with Dr. Robert Spencer. Carolyn married Alan Gustafson on July 21, 1990. She is survived by her loving husband. Carolyn is also survived by her loving son Anthony Michael Lucas, loving daughters Jennifer Gustafson, Gina Szenasi, and Julie Papathemetris and her husband Pete, her brother Ken Marrow and his wife Linda, her brother Robert Marrow and his wife Melanie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Riley Szenasi, Luke Szenasi and Ellery Gustafson, nephew Joshua Marrow and wife Ellen, niece Tracie Conner and husband Brooks, great nieces Olivia Conner, Pia Marrow, and Madison Conner. Carolyn was preceded in death by her younger sister Lianne Eachus, her father, Leland Wilfred Marrow and her mother, Rogene Elizabeth Marrow. Our family would like to thank Hospice East Bay for their exceptional and loving care of Carolyn. Final arrangements are being handled by Neptune Society of Northern California, Walnut Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carolyn’s honor to Hospice East Bay or American Cancer Society. Al would love to have a small memorial celebration at the house later when safe.
