OBITUARY
Judy Ann Kennedy
February 25, 1948 – January 22, 2023

Judy Ann Kennedy (Dosé), of San José, California, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, daughter, and friend, passed on from this life at the age of 74 on Sunday, January 22nd, 2023, attended by loved ones.
Born on February 25th, 1948 in San Francisco, Judy attended Mt. Pleasant High School. Judy was a traveling saleswoman at Levi’s and OshKosh B’Gosh corporation in Chicago at a time when it was uncommon for women to be in the field. At the age of 50, Judy earned her Bachelor of Technology in Telecommunications Engineering from DeVry University, then began her second career in network systems support, working for nearly 17 years with the Elk Grove Village Public Library in Illinois. Following her retirement in 2015, Judy returned to San José to reside in her childhood home closer to her friends and extended family.
Judy loved to garden, and she loved to travel, the latter especially when shared with friends and family. She cared deeply about environmental, social, and technological justice and she loved deep thinkers, attending events like the San José Speaker Series to hear those who’ve shaped our culture and our society. A reasonable thinker herself, she was unflappable, a trait she passed on to her children.
The daughter of John Barton Dosé and Virginia Dosé. Judy is survived by her three children Ken, Kathleen, and John, granddaughter Maeve, sister Gail, and many dear friends and cherished extended family members too numerous to list.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Judy’s life may be made to either or both of the following charitable organizations:
ALS Association (als.org)
The National Wildlife Federation (nwf.org)
